Pawsitive Placement Program Listings

HSSET is excited to offer our Pawsitive Placement Program to the community as an effort to extend our help to animals who we may not be able to take immediately into the shelter. This program helps promote animals looking for a new home while the shelter is at capacity. HSSET routinely intakes 100 animals per month and can only take in animals as we adopt out. On average we are asked to take in roughly 800-1000 animals per month from owner surrenders and stray surrenders. HSSET often works with local rescues and animal control facilities to help save animals who may be at risk of euthanasia.

The pets listed below are being rehomed privately by members of our community through this courtesy listing on our website. Rehoming reduces the stress for a pet by preventing them from entering an animal shelter and allowing them to remain in their home until they find a new one.

These animals are not housed at the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, and all arrangements to meet with these animals and adopt them must be made with the pet’s guardian directly. Please note that the Humane Society of Southeast Texas accepts no responsibility for the pets posted to this page.

Potential adopters are responsible for communicating with the pet’s guardian to acquire veterinary records and other necessary information and supplies. By using this courtesy service, you agree that the Humane Society of Southeast Texas is released from all legal and financial liability arising from potential behavioral or medical issues with the listed animal. The Humane Society of Southeast Texas makes no guarantees on and takes no responsibility for the temperament, health, or suitability of the companion animals adopted through the Pawsitive Placement Program.
