The Humane Society of Southeast Texas is a section 501(c)3 nonprofit governed by a board of directors. Each member of the board of directors is a volunteer. Members elected represent a wide variety of backgrounds and skills; however, a common prerequisite is a compassion for animals. The board oversees that the mission of HSSET remains the focus of the organization.
