Why donate to the Southeast Texas Humane Society?
HSSET is a community-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter. We rely on private donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations to save animals in need. HSSET receives no tax dollars from federal, state, or local government funding, nor are we a chapter of any national organization. When you donate to HSSET your money stays local and helps save the lives of animals in our community.
Our Financial Accountability
The Humane Society of Southeast Texas is dedicated to being transparent and accountable with our financial documents. HSSET is in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and nationally recognized nonprofit standard organizations, such as Guidestar, Charity Navigator, and the Better Business Bureau. Ways to Donate to the Southeast Texas Humane Society!
At HSSET we have a variety of ways you can donate outside of financial contributions. You can donate gently used animal necessities, cat/dog food, or even your time!
- One time donation
- Recurring donation
- In memory of
- In honor of
- Sponsor an animal –
Sponsoring an animal puts a spotlight on the animal who might otherwise get over looked at HSSET. When you sponsor an animal you are paying for all, or a portion of, their adoption fee. This sponsorship is a great way for those who cannot have animals to still be involved and make a difference in the lives of these amazing pets. - Medical donation –
Medical donations help fill the gap when emergencies arise. There are certain times where an animal who is injured needs immediate life saving surgery, this is where your donation will help us provide the best care possible. - Have A Heart –
Heartworms is no longer a death sentence. Our Have A Heart Program provides low cost heartworm treatment for heartworm positive dogs. The mission of this program is to not only extend the life of the animal but also provide a quality of life they may not have had while being heartworm positive. - Food Pantry –
Our food pantry started as a way to help those in need who have animals but may have fallen on tough times. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we are able to help facilitate feeding these animals and ensure no animal goes hungry.
